Who are we and how do we work at Mer?
Mer is a bar and restaurant in Restaurantgruppen, which owns and manages several nightclubs and restaurants in central Fredrikstad. Since we established in spring 2007, many content guests have enjoyed good food and drinks in our restaurant. Mers bar is still the best in town.Mer is located on the idyllic pier promenade. When our outdoor servings start in May, it is with the river as our closest neighbour. Anything from lunch and small dishes to huge seafood platters and delicious desserts are served, and our menu changes from what commodities the seasons may have to offer. We have a rich wine menu that is composed by the restaurant’s own sommelier, or wine steward as they say in English. The sommelier is also arranging wine courses which have been a huge success. The courses are open to everyone aged 18 and over.
Mer is a place for everyday and special occasions, business dinners and private parties. On ground and first floor there are rooms that can be rented for private arrangements, whether they are big weekend parties or midweek work luncheons. The largest room seats up to 50 guests and our kitchen is happy to set a menu for the occasion.
We at Mer are proud of our work. The food you are served here is made with a great deal of care and precision. We use the best of commodities and root for organic and local food, which is why we cooperate with the best suppliers in Østfold.

Mer has an established tradition in running a bar. We are all licensed and have the same opening hours as our restaurant. If you wish an appetizer, a drink after your meal or an informal moment in the bar accompanied by our skilled bartenders, you have come to the right place. We mix, do tricks and don’t stop until you get what you asked for, and then some.
